Food Processing - Case Study - Pound ConsultingWhen a 250,000 square foot food processing plant faced operational and fiscal challenges, the $75 million company enlisted the services of Pound Consulting Inc. to devise, implement and coordinate a new strategic plan.

The Challenge:

The Connecticut-based company had 300 employees and a busy production facility. It was important that the turnaround not impact day-to-day operations. The company faced rapid growth, an aging production facility and lacked long-term vision.

The Plan:

After meeting with key management, Pound Consulting formulated a plan that included;

    • Installing and implementing new hardware and software platform
    • Coordinating the process line layout
    • Create cutting edge processing methods
    • Building standard product cost structure
    • Negotiating equipment acquisition and financing

The Result:
Select key improvements;

    • Discordant investors, including state government, private investors, and secured lenders were brought together. These investors represented a total investment of $35 million.
    • Pound Consulting, Inc. organized and led a team that acquired a $25 million national food processing company based in the Midwest.
    • Revitalized a $25 million, 200-employee food processing plant based in New Jersey.
    • Increased production output by an impressive 300%.

Following the strategic plan devised by Pound Consulting Inc. enabled this company to thrive. They were able to continually grow, improve and employ hundreds of people, all while maintaining a cost-effective, cutting edge facility.
